Liminal: Chamber String Textures Volume 2

Introducing LIMINAL: CHAMBER STRING TEXTURES VOLUME 2, our second library of intimately recorded Violin, Viola and Cello samples – playable using the full version of Kontakt 6.7.1+.

This second volume has a strong focus on rhythm and synchronicity, taking advantage of Kontakt’s Time Machine Pro feature. This brings the samples into lock-step with your DAW’s tempo, bringing to life intricate rhythmic patterns and energetic ostinatos. Like all of the LIMINAL libraries, the samples within Volume 2 are aleatoric, long and evolving, with the performer imparting character and movement. Recorded closely and dry, the sounds are great for adding unpredictable nuance, detail and creative imperfection.

Liminal Chamberl String Textures Vol 2: Motive Textural Strings

The user-interface allows articulations to be layered, mixed and reversed. LFO controls can be enabled, allowing your DAW’s tempo to dictate the modulation of an individual layer’s volume. This opens the door for tempo-synced swells and unleashes even more creative possibilities for evolving, rhythmic texture.

Volume 2 contains several new features not yet available in our previous libraries. Sample banks can be triggered via both the UI and keyswitching. There is also now a so-called ‘dynamics’ knob which controls the entire instrument’s gain independent of the instrument-level volume control. Finally, there is functionality to control ADSR at the instrument level, which can be optionally switched to the traditional articulation-level ADSR control.
