Alto Glockenspiel is a concert mallet percussion library for Kontakt, featuring a 25-key alto glockenspiel and 7-key toy glockenspiel.
The GUI offers a variety of articulations, microphone mixing, FX rack, arp and sound-designed ambiences to layer and shape.
Requires the full version of Kontakt 5.5 or higher – not compatible with Kontakt Player
The Alto Glockenspiel is a tuned percussion library capturing a compact 25-key alto glockenspiel. This instrument is typically used in student orchestras and has a natural range from A4 – A6, but we’ve extended its playable range to from A-1 to G8 to allow extreme high and low notes. We recorded the alto glockenspiel with 3 different articulations: hard mallet, soft mallet and choked. We’ve also rolled in our classic little children’s toy glockenspiel library as a bonus. Each articulation has several dynamic layers and plenty of round-robin variation to create a very dynamic and naturally playable virtual instrument.
The Alto Glockenspiel was captured from a close, dry stereo position and a far, wide position out in a large cathedral, so you’ve got two very different flavors to work with. These distinct instrument articulation and microphone sets can be independently loaded and controlled, providing you with lots of tonal and atmospheric flavors to layer and shape. You can use our intuitive UI controls to customize the sound to your needs, with layer-specific controls for swell, attack, release, tightness, tuning, vibrato, articulation selection, an optional sub-synth waveform underlay module for tonal reinforcement. Plug them all into our step-sequencing arpeggiator and auto-roll system and you’ve got tons of options.
The custom scripted Kontakt user interface built into this library comes equipped with flexible control features, like attack, release, transient offset (tighten), dynamic swelling, vibrato, and a robust Arpeggiator system that provides a full range of custom dynamic modes and step sequencer pattern creation options. There’s also a complete DSP effects rack, including convolution reverb with dozens of unique spaces, such as cathedrals, churches, halls, bunkers, garages, tunnels, chambers, rooms and plenty of otherworldly FX impulses to fully explore and endless variety of strange and unexpected sonic manipulations.
This library is designed for the full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5.5 or later. Kontakt is an industry-standard advanced virtual instrument software platform. Check out screenshots of our custom graphical user interface for Kontakt in the image gallery above. They provide a wide range of sound shaping parameter controls, each one totally automation-ready in your host environment or Kontakt’s stand-alone mode. Click Here to learn more about Kontakt.
This is a standard Kontakt open-format library, so the free Kontakt Player do not fully support it and can only run it in a time-limited “demo mode”. However, the sample directories are unlocked so you can use them in other wav-compatible software, sampler and synth formats. The special Libraries tab doesn’t support this open-format Kontakt library, but you can use the standard File browser tab, or import it into the Kontakt database and Quickload tools for easy navigation, loading and organization.
The full retail version of Native Instruments Kontakt version 5.5 (or later) is required to use .nki instrument presets included in this library. The free Kontakt “Player” and “Add Library” import process do not support this standard open-format Kontakt library. Windows 7 or higher. Mac OSX 10.9 or higher. Dual Core CPU, 2 GB System Ram, SATA or SSD hard drive recommended for this library. This software is delivered as a digital download, so a broadband connection is required. All sales are final. Please see our Help Page for download and installation instructions, tutorials and the End User Licensing Agreement before ordering.
