Cuica by Muletone Audio is a Kontakt library of a traditional Brazilian percussion instrument that is maybe the most recognizable sound from Brazil.
Often compared to the sound of a monkeys voice, the Cuica whoops, squeaks, and sings along with the other rhythms. The sound is generated by sliding a straw through the head of the drum. The detail in this library gives this instrument a high degree of playability and cultural authenticity. Perfect for world music, Samba, film score, electronic, and good ol’ fashion fun.
You’ll definitely want to monkey around with this instrument for a while.
Muletone Audio recorded these samples using Apogee converters and preamps at 44100Hz, 24bit. Recording was done in a dry environment to preserve the character, and authenticity of the instrument.
Various articulations and dynamics were sampled in order to capture the full range of possibility for this instrument.
This library makes it very easy to achieve a very authentic Brazilian sound with the iconic sounds of the Cuica.
The library contains single hits as well as loops in the Samba, Maracatu, and Timbalada styles.
