by Sound Dust
Drift 002 offers achingly beautiful sounds from a cunningly simple interface. Hybrid electro acoustic bliss, mangled tape, crunch, ecstatic drones. 11 deeply sampled hybrid articulations with 9GB of 24bit multi samples and 180 glorious snapshots.
Whereas DRIFT001 was interested in impossible keyboard tones that could be warped into strange variations, DRIFT002 looks at things from the other end of the telescope. Starting with rich and complex hybrid instruments made from combinations of analogue, real world and purely digital sources, DRIFT002 oozes deep with undulating filigree and patina.
Long, slow evolving patchscapes and gnarled polyrhythmic cinematica can easy by morphed into glistening keys, phosphorous leads or dark, dark basses.

This is the second instalment of the Sound Dust Drift series of instruments.
Simple at the front, complex behind the curtain. The business end is just 4 large knobs: Grist, ADSR, Morph and Space combine multiple functions for uncomplicated and intuitive sound design. A minimal interface beneath which lurks a maximalists desire to warp, bend and squash millions of new sounds into the aether.

New to DRIFT002 is a three way BPM synced tremolo system which adds extra movement and throb. Control and automate three custom volume LFOs to run at different speeds and different depths to build intriguing rhythmic shimmy…and who wouldn’t want that ?
Long evolving samples of every note with interesting loops, multiple velocity layers and unlikely happenings.
